Caledonia Golf & Fish Club is pure Lowcountry. The club is built on a former rice plantation, and centuries-old live oaks draped in Spanish moss shade nearly every path. Couples come here for that sense of place. As a Myrtle Beach wedding photographer, I come for the light filtering through those branches.

The invitation suite

Ally with the ring bearer
The club is at 369 Caledonia Drive in Pawleys Island, about 35 minutes from Myrtle Beach according to the venue. The clubhouse overlooks the 18th hole, and the property offers several event spaces, including the Fish Shed, Azalea Row off the 9th green, Moss Oak Alley and the Inlet Sports Lodge.
The live oaks are the star for photos. Their shade softens harsh sun and keeps skin tones warm and natural, and the long, moss-covered paths give every portrait a timeless Southern feel. Late in the day, the sun drops behind the trees and the lawn glows.

Fixing the train under the oaks

The wedding party under the moss
Ally and Patrick married on May 3, 2026, with a 4 PM ceremony, according to their invitation. Their black-and-white invitation suite set the tone for the whole day: classic, clean and a little formal.
Ally’s lace gown had a long train, and her bridesmaids in black gowns helped arrange it under the oaks before portraits. The young ring bearer stole a few frames on the porch with her. Patrick and his groomsmen, all in black, walked the oak-lined path together, and the full wedding party gathered beneath the Spanish moss for one of my favorite group photos of the year.
Dinner was set on long tables right on the lawn, framed by the trees. As the sun dipped low, we stepped away for a few sunset portraits, with the oaks glowing behind them.
