The Village House at Litchfield Wedding Photographer

Pawleys Island, near Myrtle Beach · Featuring Shannon & Eddie and Elesabeth & Luke

The Village House at Litchfield has the kind of backstory couples love. It started life as a local restaurant, and in 2018 owner Julia Nichols Maier reimagined it as a wedding venue. She was also its very first bride. That personal touch shows in how the place feels: relaxed, welcoming and very Pawleys Island. As a Myrtle Beach wedding photographer, I have photographed more than one celebration here, and each one has looked completely different.

Photographing a Wedding at The Village House

The venue sits at 13089 Ocean Highway in Pawleys Island and offers both indoor and outdoor spaces. Inside, white walls, tall windows and a wrought-iron chandelier keep things bright. Outside, a white gazebo, green lawn and a front porch with an arched window give classic portrait backdrops just steps from the door. Catering comes from in-house partners Bovine’s and Wahoo’s Fish House, two names locals already know.

Because everything is close together, the day flows easily from one moment to the next, which leaves more time for real moments with your people.

Shannon & Eddie

Shannon arrived in style, riding in a vintage white convertible with sunglasses on and a friend by her side. Inside, she stood under the chandelier for a bridal portrait, then shared a long hug with her dad by the windows. Eddie went with a white tuxedo jacket and sneakers, posing on the gazebo steps like he had been waiting all week for it. At golden hour we slipped out to the marsh for a kiss in that warm evening light, and the night ended on a checkered dance floor that never emptied.

Elesabeth & Luke

Elesabeth and Luke married in late August 2026 with a small church ceremony in Dillon, South Carolina, then came to the coast to celebrate at The Village House. Their families gathered in front of the white gazebo for portraits, and Elesabeth’s train stretched across the lawn in one of my favorite frames from the day. Long tables with white linens and bright florals by Mary’s Creative Design filled the room, she shared the father-daughter dance with her dad, and the night closed with a sparkler send-off under The Village House sign.

Photo Tips for The Village House Couples

  • Plan the drive if you marry elsewhere. If your ceremony is at a church, like Elesabeth and Luke’s, leave extra time in the timeline for the drive so portraits do not get squeezed.
  • Use the gazebo for family photos. It frames a big group neatly and keeps everyone on even ground.
  • Step out at golden hour. Even ten minutes outside before dinner gives warm, natural light.
  • Arrive with a little fun. Shannon’s convertible ride gave us playful photos before the formal ones.
  • Plan your send-off. Ask the venue what is allowed so we can set up the exit photo in advance.
